What to expect at a Worship service:
At Parkview Church, we pride ourselves on living out the call to extravagant welcome. We are a spiritual home to people from all walks and stations of life, believers and questioners, people from a range of backgrounds and faith perspectives. We come come together to worship God, build community, share stories of our faith, and deepen our call to serve.
What happens at a typical Worship service?
Most of the time, our shared worship time includes a mix of prayer, song, scripture readings, a sermon, and prayer time. Additionally, we offer communion once a month, on the first Sunday of the month. While we worship at home, you are invited to observe communion using your own bread and wine (or non-alcoholic beverage).
How long is a typical Worship service?
Most of our onsite Worship services last about an hour. Many people like to visit with others in the congregation before and after worship. We have fellowship/coffee hour following our onsite worship.
What should I wear?
Members and friends of our congregation come from all walks of life and you will see it in the way we dress. We encourage you to dress the way that feels most appropriate to you. Come as you are.
Is childcare or Sunday School offered?
Children and families are welcomed and valued at Parkview Church. When we meet at the church, childcare is available for infants and toddlers in the nursery starting at 9:45 a.m. We offer Sunday morning educational experiences for children and youth during our worship hour.
Will I have to introduce myself?
You can expect a warm greeting from members of the congregation, but you will not be singled out in front of the Church. If you are comfortable with an introduction, we are happy to help others get to know you.
What’s the music like?
We have a wide variety of musical styles, including traditional hymns, bluegrass, piano, and guitar-led services. Learn more about our music at Parkview, on the Music page..
Do I have to put money in the offering plate?
You are not expected to put money in the offering plate. If you do share a gift, you are adding to our ability to “be the church” in the wider world.
Do I have to be a church member to take communion?
At Parkview Church, everyone is welcome at the Communion Table. There are no exceptions. All are welcome at the table without regard to Church membership or belief.
